Would it be a good idea to start a community center?

One thing I have always thought of doing, was if I ever became rich, I would start a community center in my hometown to sort of give back. I think it'd be a great way to support my community, and also make money in return. Some of that money would go back into the center as well. Idk, what do you think of that? I don't think I'd ever be able to afford that now, but if I ever get to a wealthy state I will give it a shot.

If the community is lacking one and it is what you want to do to give back it likely would be a great thing to do for your community. I myself have never thought about a community center as a business model. Our city currently funds our cities community center though and they do a really good job so would not want to compete with them.

A lot of places can use one. We had several in my area when I was growing up and all but one have closed. I feel like these are the types of places that allow a community to remain close, especially for people who are not religious.
